The Staircase (2022)

"The Staircase" is the true-crime limited series retelling the case of novelist Michael Peterson. He's accused of murdering his wife after she was found dead at the bottom of their home's staircase. The show digs into the marriage, the investigation, and the media frenzy. That frenzy turned the trial into a national fixation. Toni Collette leads as Kathleen Peterson, delivering a performance that includes a nude scene now archived here. Olivia Dejonge rounds out the cast as one of the Peterson children. Her work is represented too. Six scenes from the series are collected on the site in total. Together they offer a rare look at the more exposed side of a drama. It's better known for its courtroom tension than its skin.
