Party Down (2009)

Party Down follows a crew of struggling actors and writers moonlighting as caterers in Los Angeles. It mines awkward gigs and industry desperation for its comedy. Lizzy Caplan anchors the ensemble with her deadpan charm. The show gave her plenty of room to shine amid the chaos. Christine Nguyen also passes through the cast. She adds to the parade of familiar faces cycling through catering jobs gone wrong. Allison Scagliotti turns up too, another face caught in the show's revolving door. It's a revolving door of side hustles and showbiz burnout. Even Stormy Daniels makes an appearance, a curveball that fits right in. It suits the series' offbeat casting perfectly. The hub collects 7 scenes worth seeking out. They range from quick nude flashes to more explicit asides. They stand apart from the show's usual joke-a-minute pacing.
