Mother! (2017)

Mother! is Darren Aronofsky's psychological horror fever dream, a slow-building nightmare about a young wife whose secluded home life unravels as uninvited guests overrun the house. Jennifer Lawrence carries nearly every frame, and the 5 scenes gathered here show her at her most exposed, from intimate sex scenes to the raw, unhinged stretches where the film sheds all restraint. It's punishing viewing at times, but Lawrence has rarely been this vulnerable on screen.
