Death Note (2017)

Death Note is Netflix's 2017 live-action adaptation of the famous Japanese manga. It follows a student who discovers a notebook capable of killing anyone whose name is written inside. Margaret Qualley plays the female lead opposite the story's supernatural mythology, giving the role a restless energy. The film leans on dark fantasy far more than skin, keeping most of its tension psychological. One scene, though, breaks from that restraint with a genuinely sexy turn from Qualley. It's the only clip archived here, but it's a memorable one worth seeking out.
