Yoko Minamida

Yoko Minamida was a Japanese actress whose career stretched from 1950s studio stardom to television in later decades, and her archive here holds one nude scene. She debuted at Daiei in 1953 and worked with director Kenji Mizoguchi before moving to Nikkatsu, where "Season of the Sun" made her a star of the youth-rebellion genre. Decades later she appeared in Nobuhiko Obayashi's horror film "House" (2004 release on this site), playing alongside Kimiko Ikegami. The scene between the two actresses shows both women topless, a rare explicit credit in a career built mostly on dramatic roles. It stands out precisely because Minamida spent most of her working life in mainstream Japanese cinema and television, not in revealing parts.
