Sophina Brown

Sophina Brown Simmons is an American actress who works in both theater and television. She became known for playing prosecutor Raina Troy on the CBS legal drama Shark from 2006 to 2008. Sophina Brown turns up in nude searches, but her scene in Twenties with Jonica T. Gibbs is underwear, not nudity. She then joined the CBS crime drama Numbers as FBI agent Nikki Betancourt from 2008 to 2010. Alongside those network roles, she has kept working steadily on stage in live theater. She also produces Black theater and helps build theater for communities of color. That work has made her a leader in growing and supporting stages for those audiences.
