Marianne Sagebrecht

Marianne Sägebrecht is a German film actress known for character parts in German and American movies. She first made her name in Munich's alternative theater and cabaret scene, notably with her troupe Opera Curiosa. Marianne Sagebrecht has a nude scene in Bagdad Cafe from 1987. She was born on 27 August 1945 in Starnberg, Bavaria, Germany. Director Percy Adlon spotted her on stage in 1977 and wrote the lead in Sugarbaby (1985) for her. In that film she played Marianne, an overweight mortician who falls for a subway conductor. American films followed with Moon over Parador (1988) and The War of the Roses (1989), where she played the housekeeper. Back home she starred in Martha and I (1990) and the black comedy Mona Must Die (1994).
