Linda Evangelista is a Canadian fashion model who rose to fame in the late 1980s. She signed with Elite Model Management in 1984 after moving from Canada to New York City. Linda Evangelista appears nude in The Super Models, where she shares scenes with Christy Turlington. She was born on May 10, 1965, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. She is best known as the longtime muse of photographer Steven Meisel, who shot her Vogue Italia covers. On the advice of photographer Peter Lindbergh, she cut her hair short in 1988. She counted among the Big 6 supermodels alongside Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford. She retired in 1998, returned three years later, and was voted the greatest supermodel of all time in 2008.
