Carrie Brownstein

Carrie Rachel Brownstein is an American musician, actress, writer, director and comedian. She first became known in the band Excuse 17 before forming the rock trio Sleater-Kinney. Carrie Brownstein comes up in nude searches, but her scene in Portlandia (2011) used a body double. She was born on September 27, 1974, in Seattle, Washington. She created the sketch comedy Portlandia with Fred Armisen, and the two starred in it together. The show ran for eight seasons until 2018 and won Emmy and Peabody Awards. She formed the group Wild Flag during a long break from Sleater-Kinney. On film she appeared in Carol (2015) and Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot (2018). Sleater-Kinney eventually got back together, and she is still touring with them as of 2026.
