X is Ti West's 2022 slasher throwback. It follows a young film crew shooting an adult movie. They work on a remote Texas farm in 1979. Their elderly hosts turn out to be far more dangerous than anyone expected. Mia Goth headlines in a dual role, baring plenty as both the film's ambitious star and the farm's unsettling matriarch. Jenna Ortega plays the shy boom operator who ends up in front of the camera herself. Her scene became one of the film's most talked-about turns toward the explicit. Brittany Snow brings her own share of skin to the cast's ill-fated production. Viva Bianca and Hanna Mangan Lawrence add to the film's steady undercurrent of sex and nudity.
