Woman In Love (2011)

"Woman In Love" is a drama built around desire and its emotional wreckage. It traces the pull between characters who can't quite let go of each other. Alexandra Maria Lara leads the cast with a performance that leans fully into that rawness. The archive holds two scenes from the film, both worth the attention they get. One finds Lara in a nude scene that plays as intimate rather than gratuitous. Palina Rojinski also appears in the mix, adding another layer to the film's tangled relationships. Jenny Moore and Lara-Maria Kullak-Ublick round out the ensemble, filling in the drama's wider world. It's a small collection by the numbers. But the two clips capture exactly the kind of unguarded, bare-nerve intensity that draws viewers back.
