Putahe (2022)

"Putahe" is a drama that leans into raw, intimate territory, built on tension rather than spectacle. It favors close, stripped-down storytelling over polish. Ayanna Misola, Hershie De Leon, and Janelle Tee anchor the cast, each given scenes that push past the usual restraint of mainstream fare. The archive here runs deep, with 15 scenes collected from across the production. Expect nude scenes, topless shots, and full sex scenes woven into the drama's rawer stretches. Misola in particular draws attention for how unguarded her scenes feel. De Leon and Tee round things out with their own bared, unflinching turns. For a small-scale film, "Putahe" leaves surprisingly little to the imagination.
