Halfaouine Boy of the Terraces (1990)

"Halfaouine Boy of the Terraces" is a Tunisian coming-of-age drama about a young boy caught between the women's household and the men's world as he approaches adolescence. The film built its name on its frank look at the female body within everyday domestic scenes. Carolyn Chelby appears in that context, topless and nude across the three scenes collected here. The camera treats her body plainly, part of the household routine rather than a staged reveal.
