Free The Nipple (2014)

"Free the Nipple" is a guerrilla-style drama named for the real protest movement it depicts. It follows a group of women in New York City who bare their chests in public to challenge indecency laws. Lina Esco directed the film and stars in it, going topless on screen as she leads the on-screen activism. Lola Kirke joins the cause as part of the ensemble. Michelle Miss Knockout Bracey, Natalie White, and Sarabeth Stroller round out the cast of activists. The hub carries 2 scenes pulled from the film. They capture the bare-chested protest footage that turned this indie into a genuine talking point outside arthouse circles. Few festival films sparked this much real-world debate about what audiences are allowed to see.
