Citizen Ruth (1996)

Citizen Ruth is Alexander Payne's 1996 dark comedy about a glue-sniffing pregnant woman who gets pulled into the fight between pro-life and pro-choice activists, each side trying to use her for their own agenda. Laura Dern plays the title role, and the film leans on her chaotic, unpolished performance rather than any polish. The archive carries 1 scene from the movie with Dern nude, a brief, matter-of-fact bit of exposure that fits the character's rundown circumstances rather than aiming for anything staged.
