Caligula (1979)

Caligula is the 1979 historical drama built around the rise and rule of the Roman emperor, mixing court intrigue with scenes of open sexuality that blurred the line between mainstream film and pornography on release. Helen Mirren appears early in her career here, well before her later prestige roles, seen nude in scenes set amid the emperor's court. Teresa Ann Savoy and Mirella D'angelo both appear nude and in sex scenes throughout, part of what made the film a target of censors in multiple countries. The archive carries 6 scenes pulled from the film, spanning group scenes, nude scenes, and simulated and unsimulated sex acts credited to all three actresses.
