Boardwalk Empire (2010)

Boardwalk Empire is HBO's sprawling Prohibition-era crime drama, set in 1920s Atlantic City. It follows the bootleggers, politicians, and gangsters running the boardwalk underworld. The cast delivered some of premium cable's boldest early scenes. Paz De La Huerta became known for baring it all as the unpredictable Lucy Danziger. Kelly Macdonald brought layered vulnerability to Margaret Schroeder, including a nude scene fans still bring up. Julianne Nicholson and Aleksa Palladino each added their own unclothed turns as the series pushed period drama into explicit territory.
