Aquamarine (2006)

"Aquamarine" is the mermaid fantasy comedy about a magical sea creature who washes ashore and upends the lives of two teenage friends. Sara Paxton stars as the titular mermaid, all wide-eyed charm and beachy innocence. Arielle Kebbel plays her best friend, caught up in the coming-of-age chaos alongside her. The film plays mostly wholesome, aimed squarely at a teen crowd. But the site has 2 scenes worth flagging for fans digging past the surface. Paxton gets a skin-baring bit that stands out against the movie's innocent tone. Kebbel turns up in her own revealing clip too. Together they make this beach-set comedy a surprisingly useful entry for anyone tracking either actress's early screen work.
